Alex J.
Audit Assistant

About Alex

Key Experiences

Unexpected but very exciting
Choosing a degree with a year in industry really prepared me for the working environment and gave me a competitive edge when applying for graduate roles.
Making a sizeable network within the industry before leaving university also allowed me to have direct points of contact both when applying and throughout my career at KPMG, that support and guidance has been essential to my development within my role as an audit assistant.

Current Position

I ensure that financial statements give true and fair reflection
My day to day work consists of carrying out a diverse number of procedures in order to scrutinise and assess the reasonableness of figures posted within the financial statements. I spend a lot of my time interacting with clients, getting to know the ins and outs of many diverse and complex businesses within the financial sector. It is then my job to test the information the client has presented in order to assess how reasonable it seems and challenge any data that I believe to be inaccurate (Not a true or fair reflection of the business).
